Yes. Chipforge generates notes and renders audio through its synthesis engine. Its style system is not simply playback of prerecorded genre loops. You can edit instruments, sequences and the evolving arrangement.
No. Core synthesis, generative styles, Auto DJ, visuals, samples and export run locally. Optional AI composition requires credentials for a supported external provider, which may charge separately.
That is a core use case. Chipforge includes performance memories, an Auto DJ, bar-aligned queues and transitions, a ten-slot sampler and live recording. Audio hardware and system performance can affect latency.
The Steam release is being prepared for 64-bit Linux with PipeWire audio. Windows and macOS versions are not announced. Steam Deck compatibility is under testing, not a verified designation.
The Steam application has been created and the Linux release is in preparation. The public store page and release date will be announced when they are ready. No release date or price is being promised yet.
